Romania Jan-July. Current Account Deficit Decreases

Romania's currrent account deficit narrowed to EUR2.71 billion in the January to July period from EUR10.37 billion in the same period last year, the National Bank of Romania said Friday.

The goods and services deficit decreased to EUR3.27 billion from EUR10.17 billion last year, with the goods deficit narrowing to EUR3.23 billion from EUR10.58 billion, and services recording a deficit of EUR42 million compared to a surplus of EUR414 million last year. Further, the income account deficit decreased to EUR1.68 billion from EUR3.28 billion.

At the same time, the surplus in the current transfers account surplus reduced to EUR2.24 billion from EUR3.08 billion in the previous year.
