New Zealand's economy grew slightly in the second quarter of 2009, ending an 15-month recession.
Statistics New Zealand reported Wednesday that New Zealand's Gross Domestic Produce increased by 0.1 percent during the three months through June 2009.
The move followed a decrease of 0.8 percent in the preceding quarter.
GDP was 1.8 percent lower for the full year ending June 2009.
Statistics NZ said primary industry activity increased 1.5 percent on quarter, driven mainly by forestry and logging, which rose 8.0 percent.
Manufacturing contracted 1.3 percent and construction activity contracted 1.9 percent. The declines were partially offset by a rise in electricity, gas and water.
Household consumption expenditure increased 0.4 percent on quarter.
