Taiwan is set to release August figures for seasonally adjusted unemployment and commercial sales on Tuesday, headlining a light day for Asian economic news.
The unemployment rate is expected to climb to 6.04 percent from the current 6.01 percent. Commercial sales are predicted to decline 3.1 percent on year after shedding an annual 3.09 percent in July.
Hong Kong is scheduled to announce consumer price index data for August. Forecasts call for a decline of 0.9 percent on year after the 1.5 percent annual contraction in July.
Finally, several of the regional bourses are closed on holiday. Malaysia and Indonesia are closed in observance of Hari Raya Puasa, while Japan is off for a national holiday.
