Thursday, Poland's Central Statistical Office announced that the producer price index or PPI rose 2.5% year-on-year in August, slower than the 2.8% growth in the previous month, revised from 3% increase reported initially. Economists were looking for an increase of 2.8%.
On a monthly basis, the PPI dropped 0.2% in August, after falling a revised 1.5% in July.
For the January to August period, producer prices climbed 4.1% compared to the same period of the previous year.
