Friday, the Mauritius Central Statistical Office announced that the export price index rose 1% sequentially in the second quarter. The increase was mainly due to rise in prices of miscellaneous manufactured articles by 3.1%.
On an annual basis, export prices increased 2.7% in the second quarter.
On the other hand, import prices increased 0.9% sequentially in the second quarter but it was down 4.3% compared to the previous year.
For the same period, the terms of trade index remained unchanged compared to the prior quarter, but rose 6 percentage points from the previous year to stand at 94.0.
