Monday, the Statistics Estonia announced that the producer price index or PPI decreased 1.6% year-on-year in August, unchanged from the previous month.
Producer prices for manufacturing dropped 3.3% on an annual basis in August, while PPI for mining increased 6.2%. Producer prices for energy supply were up 13.2%.
On a monthly basis, the PPI increased 0.2% in August, slower than the 0.5% growth in the previous month.
Meanwhile, export price index decreased 5.2% on an annual basis in August and it was up 0.2% compared to the preceding month. Similarly, import price index dropped 6.7% annually and rose 0.6% compared to the prior month.
