Malaysian Current Account Surplus Narrows In Q2

Malaysia's current account surplus stood at 28.76 billion ringgits in the first quarter, smaller than the surplus of 31.42 billion ringgits in the preceding quarter, the Department of Statistics said Thursday.

The capital and financial account balance recorded a narrower cumulative deficit of 24.23 billion ringgits in the second quarter compared to a deficit of 29.82 billion ringgits in the prior quarter.

Further, the overall balance showed a surplus of 2.13 billion ringgits, smaller that the 3.27 billion surplus in the first quarter.
