Macau's composite consumer prices rose 0.37% on a yearly basis in August, faster than a 0.19% rise in the preceding month, the Statistics and Census Service said Monday.
Prices of clothing and footwear climbed 5.54%, while that of miscellaneous goods and services rose 4.71%. Food and non-alcoholic beverage prices were up 2.99%.
On a monthly basis, composite consumer prices increased 0.19%, after a 0.07% fall in the preceding month. This was mainly due to rising prices of gasoline and LPG, which caused transport prices to rise 2.79% and housing and fuels to increase 0.67%.
In the first eight months of the year, the consumer prices were up 1.96% compared to the same period in the previous year.
