Slovenia Sentiment Indicator Rises Further In September

Thursday, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia said the sentiment indicator stood at minus 17 in September, up from minus 20 in August. However, compared to the previous year and the long-term average, the indicator fell by 17 and 20 percentage points respectively.

In September, the confidence indicator in manufacturing increased to minus 20 from minus 23 in August. On an annual basis, the indicator dropped by 7 percentage points.

The retail trade confidence indicator remained unchanged at minus 10 percentage points in September, while the confidence indicator in construction rose to minus 55 from minus 56 in August. The service confidence indicator stood at minus 8 in September, up from minus 12 in August.

Meanwhile, the consumer confidence indicator increased by 8 percentage point in September compared to the previous month. The increase was mainly due to more optimistic estimations of the general economic situation in Slovenia over the next 12 months, the statistical office said. Compared to the previous year, confidence indicator was down by 4 percentage points.
