British business confidence improved to the highest level in 18 months, the latest quarterly National Business Confidence Survey from KPMG showed.
Around 19% of respondents said that the business prospects over the coming 12 months as "good" or "very good", up from 9% in the prior quarter. At the same time, the number of executives who assessed prospects as "bad" or "very bad" decreased to 24% from 54%. Further, more than 50% claim to have already seen signs of recovery in the British economy.
According to Malcolm Edge, head of markets for KPMG, the weakness of the pound against the dollar and the euro presents an opportunity for British firms.
