Wednesday, Statistics Sweden reported that retail sales grew a working day adjusted 2.7% year-on-year in September, faster than the 1.2% increase in August. Economists were looking for a 3% increase. September marks the sixth straight month of retail sales growth.
In September, retail sales for consumables climbed 2.7%, while sales for durables were up 2.9%.
On a monthly basis, retail sales rose a seasonally adjusted 0.2% in September, rebounding from the 2.3% decline in the previous month. Economists had expected a 0.5% rise in sales. In the July to September period, retail sales remained flat compared to the preceding three month period.
