Macau July-September Unemployment Rate Falls

Macau's unemployment rate stood at 3.7% in the July to September period, down 0.1 percentage points from the three months ended August, the Statistics and Census Service said Wednesday. The unemployment rate decreased 0.6 percentage points from a year ago, with the number of unemployed totaling 12,000.

The underemployment rate edged up 0.1 percentage points to 2%, and compared to last year, increased 0.5 percentage points.

In the July to September period, there were 328,000 people in the labor force, of which 316,000 were employed. The labor force participation rate fell 0.6 percentage points from the June to August period to 72%.
