Wednesday, the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic announced that the producer price index decreased 7.7% year-on-year in September, following the 7.9% drop in the previous month. Domestic producer prices slid 5.2%, while export prices were down 10.9%.
Producer prices in manufacturing decreased 7% in September compared to the 7.3% fall in August. Prices in mining & quarrying plunged 14.5%, steeper than the 9.8% decline in the preceding month.
On a monthly basis, producer prices fell 0.1% in September after remaining flat in August. In the January to September period, producer prices declined 6.8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
