French Budget Deficit Increases In June

The French budget deficit surged to EUR 86.6 billion in June from EUR 32.8 billion in the same period of the prior year, the Budget Ministry said Tuesday.

Total expenditure totaled EUR 180.6 billion compared to EUR 173.5 billion in June 2008. Meanwhile, receipts from the general budget fell to EUR 117.3 billion from EUR 156.1 billion in the prior year. Total net tax revenue slipped to EUR 108.5 billion.
