More financial companies in the UK are seeking regulatory authorization in the second quarter, the Financial Times reported Monday. The number of new financial firms going for authorization rose 10%, which was the first growth since early 2008.
Among the 282 new registrants with the Financial Services Authority, the single largest group was independent financial advisers. At the same time, firms canceling their authorization with the FSA slowed 18% in the second quarter.
