Poland Has No New Date For Adoption Of Euro

The Polish government has no plans as yet for setting a new date for the adoption of the euro to replace the zloty, the country's Prime Minister Donald Tusk reportedly said Tuesday.

In July, the government scrapped the 2012 euro adoption plan, as the global financial crisis affected the country's plans.

The Prime Minister said although Poland's economic situation was much better than the other European nations, risks were still present. Tusk said the major task for the government at present was to reduce public debt to below 50% of GDP this year and to below 55% next year, staying under the limits set by the EU.
