Friday, the Turkey statistical office TurkStat announced that the consumer price index or CPI increased 5.27% year-on-year in September, slower than the 5.33% growth in the previous month. Economists expected an increase of 5.7%.
On a monthly basis, the CPI climbed 0.39% in September. Economists were looking for an increase of 0.8%.
Separately, the statistical office said, the producer price index or PPI increased 0.47% year-on-year in September, after falling 1.04% in August. Economists expected an increase of 0.3%. Month-on-month, the PPI rose 0.62% in September, faster than the 0.6% expected by economists.
