Tuesday, a report by Statistics Norway said the current account surplus increased to NOK 95 billion in the second quarter from a NOK 75 billion surplus in the first quarter. However, the surplus decreased by NOK 30 billion from last year.
During the second quarter, the surplus in the goods and services account decreased to NOK 78 billion from NOK 105 billion in the first quarter. At the same time, the income and current transfers account balance showed a surplus of NOK 18 billion, reversing from a deficit of NOK 30 billion in the preceding quarter.
