Eurozone Aug. M3 Money Supply Growth Eases More Than Expected

Friday, the European Central Bank said Eurozone's annual rate of growth of M3 eased to 2.5% in August from 3% in July. The annual rate was smaller than the expected 2.7%.

The three month average of the annual growth rates of M3 for three months to August decreased to 3% from 3.4% during May to July.

At the same time, M1 increased 13.6% year-on-year in August, down from 12.1% in July. Loans to private sector edged up 0.1%, slower than the 0.7% increase seen in July.
