Chile July Consumer Price Inflation Slows

Thursday, Chile's National Institute of Statistics said that the consumer price index or CPI rose 0.3% year-over-year in July, slower than the 1.9% increase in the previous month. Economists were looking for an increase of 0.6%.

On a monthly basis, the CPI declined 0.4% in July, after rising 0.3% in June. Economists had expected a decline of 0.1%.

For the January to July period, the CPI dropped 1.2% compared to the same period of the previous year.
