Monday, a flash report by the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic said the gross domestic product decreased 5.3% at constant prices in the second quarter compared to the previous year. At current prices, the GDP fell 6.5%. After seasonal adjustments, the GDP fell 5.4% year-on-year in the second quarter.
Total employment fell by 1.3% year-on-year in the second quarter on the based of the unadjusted series, and fell 0.9% after seasonal adjustments.
For the first half of the year, the GDP dropped 5.5% at constant prices and declined by 6.3% at current prices.
