Italy's Trade Balance Swings To Deficit In June

Italy's total trade balance in June turned to a deficit of EUR 631 million from EUR 1.15 billion surplus in May, statistical office Istat said Friday. A year ago, the trade balance was EUR 1.32 billion surplus.

Exports fell 20.7% year-on-year in June and imports dropped 21.3%.

Italy's trade balance with EU countries resulted in a deficit of EUR 779 million, reversing a surplus of EUR 604 million in May. Exports dropped 24.4% and imports were down 14.1%.
