Greek Producer Prices Drop In August

Tuesday, the General Secretariat of the National Statistical Service of Greece announced that the producer price index or PPI decreased 7.8% year-on-year in August, compared to the 11% fall in the previous month. A year ago, the PPI was up 13.3%.

Intermediate goods prices dropped 2.2% on an annual basis in August, while capital goods prices fell 2.1%. Energy prices were down 19.7%.

On a monthly basis, the PPI increased 1.7% in August, in contrast to the 0.7% fall in the previous month.
