French Manufacturing Output Rises More Than Expected In August

French manufacturing and industrial output increased more than expected in August, data released by the statistical office Insee showed Friday.

Manufacturing output grew 1.9% month-on-month in August after a revised increase of 0.8% in July. Economists had forecast 0.6% rise in output. Production has been growing since May 2009.

Industrial output rose 1.8% in August compared to July, quicker than the expected increase of 0.3%, following a revised 0.3% growth in the previous month.
