U.K. Service Sector Output Continues To Fall In 3-month To May

U.K. service sector output fell 1% in the three months to May compared with the three months to February, the Office for National Statistics said Friday. Economists had forecast a drop of 0.8%.

It follows a fall of 1.2% in the three months to April. Output fell for the eleventh consecutive three months on previous three months.

Four of the five components of the service sector decreased in the three months to May with the most significant decline in business services and finance.

Between April and May, service sector output fell 0.2%.
