Hungarian Retail Sales Decline For Fourth Month

Friday, data released by the Hungarian Statistical Office showed that retail sales declined 0.5% month-on-month in May, after falling 0.3% in April. Sales declined for the fourth month in a row.

Year-on-year, retail sales dropped 4.2% in May after a 4.1% slump in April. The latest decline was in line with expectations.

During the five-month period from January to May, retail sales declined 3.6%.
