German Ifo Business Climate Rises More Than Expected In July

Friday, the Munich-based Ifo Institute for Economic Research said its business climate indicator for Germany rose to 87.3 in July from 85.9 in June. The index rose above the expected level of 86.5.

An index measuring the current conditions in Germany improved to 84.3 from 82.4, while the forecast was for 82.9.

Ifo's expectations index logged 90.4 in July, up from 89.5 in June and better than 90.1 economists predicted.
