The total price-adjusted value of orders received by building construction and civil and underground engineering enterprises in Germany decreased 4.6% year-on-year in May, the Federal Statistical Office said Friday.
In building construction, demand decreased 6.8% and fell 2.6% in civil and underground engineering.
The number of employees in the building industry amounted to 690,000 at the end of May, down 18,000 or 2.6% compared with the previous year.
