The Philippines will announce December numbers for its consumer price index on Tuesday, setting the pace for a modest day for Asian economic activity. Analysts are expecting inflation to climb 0.4 percent on month and 4.2 percent on year following the 0.6 percent monthly gain and the 2.8 percent annual increase in November.
Taiwan will provide December figures for CPI, WPI and foreign reserves. CPI is expected to add 0.15 percent on year after the 1.59 percent annual contraction in November. WPI is tipped to climb 5.27 percent on year following the 0.84 percent annual increase in the previous month. Foreign reserves came in at $347.19 billion in November.
