German ILO Jobless Rate Edges Down In November

Germany's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate under ILO standards stood at 7.6% in November, down from 7.7% recorded in October, but up from 7.1% logged in the previous year, data released by the Federal Statistical Office showed Tuesday.

The number of unemployed amounted to a seasonally adjusted 3.26 million in November, up 200,000 persons or 6.5% from the previous year. Compared with October this year, the seasonally adjusted number of unemployed rose by less than 10,000 persons or 0.1%.

Meanwhile, the number of persons in employment living in Germany amounted to 40.41 million, a decline by 332,000 persons or 0.8% from the previous year.
