Rwanda Consumer Price Inflation Eases In January

Rwanda's consumer price index or CPI rose 4.54% year-on-year in January, slower than the 5.74% growth in the previous month, the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda said on Thursday. A year ago, the CPI inflation was 20.37%.

On a monthly basis, the CPI decreased 0.71% in January.

The underlying inflation, which excludes fresh food and energy rose 3.17% on an annual basis and 0.25% compared to the preceding month.
