Wednesday, Macau's Statistics and Census Service announced that the number of visitor arrivals increased 6.8% year-on-year in January, compared to the 6.7% growth in the previous month.
The number of visitor arrivals amounted to 2.05 million in January, larger than the 2.04 million recorded in the preceding month. At the same time, the number of visitor and non-resident arrivals totaled 2.53 million.
Visitors from Mainland China increased by 18.9% year-on-year to 1.13 million in January, which was 55.3% of total visitor arrivals. Visitors from Taiwan, China, Japan, Korea and Malaysia increased in January, while visitor arrivals from Hong Kong decreased.
