More managers in U.K. companies have resigned from their jobs in the past year than in the previous 12 months despite the economy being mired in recession, a study has suggested.
The Chartered Management Institute found 4.7% of over 43,000 individuals surveyed resigned last year, compared to 4.5% in 2008.
The survey also found that the average salary increased 2.5% across Britain, with managers in Scotland and the North East of England enjoying the biggest pay rises.
On the other hand, managers working in East Anglia received the smallest salary increases.
The findings showed an average salary of GBP 21,876 per year for junior staff across the U.K. and GBP 43,119 for their counterparts at team leader level.
