Friday, the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia announced that the producer price index or PPI decreased 6.6% year-on-year in January, compared to the 8% fall in the previous month.
Manufacturing PPI dropped 4.7% on an annual basis in January, while the PPI for mining and quarrying slipped 7.5%. The PPI for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply fell 15.4%.
On a monthly basis, the PPI increased 0.8% in January, faster than the 0.4% growth in the previous month.
