The Euro area economy is expected to grow at a moderate pace this year and the recovery process could be uneven, the European Central Bank said in its monthly bulletin on Thursday.
"Looking ahead, the Governing Council expects the euro area economy to grow at a moderate pace in 2010," the central bank said. The Euro area economic activity continued to expand around the turn of the year.
The Governing Council expects price stability to be maintained over the medium term. Inflation is expected to be around 1% in the near term and to remain moderate over the policy-relevant horizon, the ECB added. Overall price, cost and wage developments are expected to stay subdued.
