UK Q3 Corporate Profitability Falls

Wednesday, UK's Office for National Statistics said the net rate of return by private non-financial corporations fell to 11.5% in the third quarter from 11.7% in the second quarter. That was the lowest rate since the second quarter of 2001.

Service sector profitability fell to 12.9% in the third quarter from 15.8% in the second. Meanwhile, net rate of return for manufacturing companies' edged up to 6.9% from 6.8%.
