New Zealand consumer confidence climbed 12.8 points to a three-year high of 131.4 in January, the latest ANZ-Roy Morgan Consumer Confidence survey showed Thursday. A reading above 100 suggests that consumers are optimistic.
At the same time, expectations for future conditions surged to 146, which was the highest reading since the survey began in 2004. The index for current conditions rose above 100 for the first time in a year. The survey was conducted between January 4 and 10 among 2,049 people.
