Italy's industrial new orders increased a seasonally adjusted 2.6% month-on-month in November, faster than the 0.3% growth in the previous month, the statistical office Istat said on Wednesday. Economists expected an increase of 0.4%. Domestic orders grew 2.4%, while external orders edged up 2.8%.
During the September to November period, industrial orders climbed 1.8% compared to the previous three months period.
Year-on-year, an unadjusted industrial orders remained unchanged in November, compared to the 8.7% fall expected by economists. For the January to November period, industrial new orders slipped 24.7% over a year ago.
The statistical agency said industrial turnover in November rose 1.5% month-on-month, with domestic sales rose 0.9% and external sales grew 2.7%. Compared to the previous year, industrial sales plunged 20.2%.
