Hungary Sept.-Nov. Jobless Rate Rises

Wednesday, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office announced that the jobless rate stood at 10.5% in the September to November period, up from 10.4% recorded in the August to October period. Economists expected the jobless rate to be 10.6%. A year ago, the jobless rate was 7.8%.

The number of unemployed totaled 445 thousand persons in the September to November period, larger than the 439.5 thousand persons in the August to October period.

Meanwhile, the employment participation rate stood at 55.1%, up from 55% in the August to October period.
