European investor sentiment continued to improve in January, results of a key survey showed on Monday.
The index for Eurozone investor sentiment for January rose to minus 3.7 from minus 5.5 in December, the Sentix research group said. It was the sixth increase in a row and the best reading since June 2008.
The current conditions index of the survey climbed to minus 17.5, the highest since October 2008, from minus 19.5. Meanwhile, the expectations measure increased to 11.25 from 9.5.
The economy continues to recover, but in small steps, the Limburg, Germany-based Sentix said. The latest Sentix survey was carried out between December 30, 2009 and January 2, 2010. Around 804 investors took part in the survey.
