European Economics Preview: Eurozone Consumer Price Data Due

Consumer price inflation figures from the Eurozone and consumer confidence data from France are the highlights for Tuesday.

At 2:45 am ET, the French statistical office INSEE is scheduled to release consumer confidence data for December. The consumer confidence index is seen at minus 30, unchanged from November.

A flash estimate of the harmonized consumer price index is due from Spain's National Statistics Institute at 3:00 am ET. Year-on-year, the HICP is forecast to rise 0.8% in December following the 0.4% gain in November. Spain's unemployment data is due from the Ministry of Employment and Immigration simultaneously.

Elsewhere, Hungary's Central Statistical Office is slated to issue producer price inflation figures for November. Producer price data is also due from Romania's National Institute of Statistics.

Norway's manufacturing PMI data is due from logistics association NIMA and Fokus Bank at 3:00 am ET. The seasonally adjusted index is expected to rise to 49.5 in December from 48.5 in November.

Germany's Federal Labor Agency is slated to issue unemployment data for December at 3.55am ET. The number of unemployed persons on a seasonally adjusted is expected to increase by 5,000 in December.

At 4:30 am ET, the CIPS construction PMI report for the United Kingdom is due from Markit Economics. The index is seen at 47.3 in December, up from 47 in the preceding month.

Afterwards at 5:00 am ET, the Eurostat is set to release a flash reading of consumer prices for December. Economists expect consumer prices to rise 0.9% annually, adding to the 0.5% growth in the prior month.
