Statistics Norway said on Thursday that the country's gross domestic product grew 0.1% quarter-on-quarter in the fourth quarter. This was wildly off analyst forecasts for 0.7% growth and follows the downwardly revised 0.5% growth in the third quarter.
At the same time, mainland GDP grew 0.3% - again missing forecasts for a 0.8% increase.
On a yearly basis, national output contracted 1.2% while mainland output was flat.
In the whole of 2009, both national and mainland GDP shed 1.5% - the first such decline in 20 years.
