The Reserve Bank of New Zealand reported on Friday that total credit card billings in the country rose a seasonally adjusted 2.6% year-on-year in January, accelerating from the 1.9% increase in the preceding month.
Domestic card billings climbed 2.5% on a yearly basis compared to the 2.2% increase in the previous month. At the same time, overseas card billings gained 3%, reversing the 0.7% decrease in December.
On a monthly basis, total card billings were up a seasonally adjusted 1.5%, rebounding from the 1.2% fall in the prior month.
