Austria Producer Prices Decline In December

Friday, the Statistics Austria announced that the producer price index or PPI dropped 1% year-on-year in December, compared to the 2.1% fall in the previous month. A year ago, the PPI was up 1.7%.

On a monthly basis, the PPI remained unchanged in December, slower than the 0.1% growth in the previous month.

In the fourth quarter, the PPI decreased 2.1% on an annual basis and was down 0.1% compared to the previous quarter.

In the whole year of 2009, producer prices decreased 1.6% from the previous year.
