French Private Sector Activity Growth Slows In February

France's Markit/CDAF flash composite output Index fell to a 5-month low of 55.7 in February from 58 in January, Markit Economics said Friday.

Flash services activity index also dropped to a 5-month low of 54.7 in the month from 56.3 in January. Economists had expected a reading of 56.4.

Flash manufacturing purchasing managers' index slipped to 54.6 from 55.4 in January. It reached a 3-month low. Meanwhile, the forecast was 55.3. Flash manufacturing output index fell to 57.5 from 61.1 in January.

The moderation in output growth reflected a smaller increase in incoming new business during February. However, there was positive news regarding manufacturing export orders, which increased at the fastest pace for over three years.
