Tuesday, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said the short-term visitor arrivals dropped a seasonally adjusted 5.1% month-on-month in June. This follows a 1.7% fall in arrivals in May.
On an adjusted basis, visitor arrivals decreased to 442,500 in June from 466,200 in the preceding month. Unadjusted, there were 364,800 tourist arrivals.
Meanwhile, the short-term tourist departures fell a seasonally adjusted 0.4% in June from May to 508,200, after minimal monthly change in the preceding month, the statistical office said. Unadjusted, there were 557,400 departures in June.
