Friday, the Statistics Lithuania said in a final report that the gross domestic product or GDP dropped 14.2% year-on-year in the third quarter, revised up from a 14.3% decline reported initially. The GDP was down 19.7% in the second quarter.
Sequentially, the GDP increased 6.1% in the third quarter, faster than the 7.7% decline in the previous quarter. The GDP in third quarter was revised up from 6% growth estimated earlier.
On a chain-linked volume basis, the GDP decreased 14.2% year-on-year in the third quarter, revised from a 14.3% drop estimated in the preliminary report. In the second quarter, the GDP was down 19.5%. Quarter-on-quarter, the GDP rose 13.1% in the third quarter, revised up from 13% growth reported initially and larger than the 2.5% increase in the second quarter.
For the first nine months of the year, the GDP dropped 15.7% compared to the same period of the previous year.
