Wednesday, the Statistics Estonia announced that the average monthly gross wages and salaries decreased 5.9% year-on-year in the third quarter, compared to the 4.4% fall in the previous quarter.
The average monthly gross wages and salaries amounted to 11,770 kroons in the third quarter, smaller than the 12,716 kroons in the second quarter.
The gross wages and salaries in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply increased the most by 2.7%, while the gross wages and salaries in construction fell 13.8%.
Meanwhile, the average hourly gross wages and salaries were down 5.8% on an annual basis in the third quarter, after falling 1.4% in the second quarter.
At the same time, the average monthly labor costs per employee and the average hourly labor costs decreased by 5% and 3.5%, respectively.
The average gross wages and salaries were 12,046 kroons in September, larger than the 11,262 kroons in August and 11,995 kroons in July, the statistical office said.
