Japan is scheduled to release October numbers for corporate service prices and merchandise imports, exports and trade balance on Wednesday, setting the pace for a modest day for Asian economic news.
Corporate service prices are forecast to shed 2.6 percent on year following the 3.2 percent annual contraction in September. Merchandise imports are expected to plunge 34.1 percent on year after the 36.9 percent fall in the previous month. Exports are tipped to shed an annual 27 percent following the revised 30.6 percent contraction a month earlier. The trade balance is forecast to show a surplus of 465.5 billion yen after the revised 525.3 billion yen surplus in the previous month. The adjusted trade balance is expected to show a surplus of 300 billion yen following the surplus of 58.6 billion yen in September.
The Philippines will provide September figures for imports and trade balance. Imports are projected to fall 18.9 percent on year after the 28.3 percent annual contraction in August. The trade balance is forecast to show a deficit of $318 million following the $144 million shortfall in the previous month.
Taiwan is set to announce October numbers for M2 money supply. Forecasts call for an increase of 4.8 percent on year following the 8.28 percent annual increase in September.
