Spain's index for consumer sentiment rose to 78.7 in January from 74.7 in December, the Instituto Credito Oficial said on Wednesday. The index was also sharply above January 2009's score of 50.1.
The index measuring consumers' perception of the current economic situation climbed to 48.8 in January from 46.5 in December, and that measuring expectations for the next six months surged to 108.5 from 102.8.
The index measuring sentiment on the current employment situation nudged up to 33.7 from 33.2, while that measuring sentiment in the jobs front for the next six months rose to 110.1 from 105.5.
